How To Use A Body Scrub Step-by-Step

It’s best to use a body scrub two to three times per week to keep your skin soft and smooth from head to toe. Here’s how to add one to your body care routine:

  1. Use lukewarm water; allow it to run for 5–10 minutes to soften the skin.

The skin on certain parts of your body is thicker than the skin on your face (think soles of your feet vs. your eyelids), but just like with your delicate face, too much exfoliating can be hard on other skin as well. The sweet spot for a sugar (or salt) scrub is about 1–3 times per week, depending on your skin type and the type of exfoliant used. Dry or sensitive skin should exfoliate less often, two times a week max, while normal to oily skin can handle up to three times weekly. It’s crucial to start slow and listen to your skin.
