They also feature a skinnier and softer headband for a more ergonomic fit, with a noticeable improvement on the WH-1000XM2. Hear music that stays true to the original recording with High-Resolution Audio, thanks to the QN1 processor’s 32-bit audio signal processing. These headphones include a powerful 40mm driver with Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) diaphragm for handling heavy beats and can reproduce a full range of frequencies up to 40kHz. Even if you don’t have high-resolution music, DSEE HX intelligently upscales compressed music files giving your music a clear, rich sound. LDAC transmits approximately three times more data than conventional Bluetooth, which enable the High-Resolution Audio content wirelessly. Smart settings by Adaptive Sound Control optimize listening settings automatically based on your listening behaviour and environment, but also allows you customisable control based on your own preferences. You can use the equalizer from the Headphone Connect App (works with Android and iOS) to easily set music levels to your personal taste. By placing your hand on the headphone housing, you can quickly communicate without having to take your headphones off or adjust the volume too, and a quick double-tap enables hands-free calling.

When installing SONY Headphones Connect for the first time, you are prompted to enable the ASC setting. ASC stands for Adaptive Sound Control. Adaptive Sound Control automatically changes the headphones sound settings depending on 4 motion options: sitting, walking, running and transport. Following a software update of your headset, Adaptive Sound Control on the Headphones Connect app may turn ON automatically and enable the Ambient Sound Control setting. However, if the headset is set to Ambient Sound Control, the effects of noise cancelling may seem weak. The level of ambient sound is adjusted depending on the movement of the user. To change Adaptive Sound Control to set Noise Cancelling levels to the maximum; Launch the “SONY | Headphones Connect” App on your smartphone after connecting your headphones with your smartphone via Bluetooth. Turn “Adaptive Sound Control” OFF (if this setting is ON) If you want to use “Adaptive Sound Control”, you can edit the “Ambient Sound Control” setting depending on the 4 different preset actions: Sitting – Walking – Running Transport.Turn [Ambient Sound Control] to ON. Don’t forget to confirm if Noise-Cancellation is set to ON. Use the slider to change the level. Tap START to execute [Noise Cancelling Optimizer after wearing the unit. (Excluding WF-1000X). Optimizing increases the effects of noise cancelling to its maximum capability.
