Many of the best Chase cards, including the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, United℠ Explorer Card, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card
, and Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card, come with a monthly Gopuff credit.
Eligible cardholders can get $10 per month — per card — in statement credits toward Gopuff purchases of $10 or more until December 31, 2023. That can add up to $120 per card in free stuff per year if you max out this benefit — and it’s an even better deal if you have one of Chase’s no-annual-fee cards that qualify, like the Chase Freedom Unlimited® or Chase Freedom Flex℠
.
If you haven’t heard of Gopuff, you’re not alone. Gopuff is a service that delivers thousands of products on demand, from groceries and snacks to alcohol and household supplies. It’s mostly available in larger cities, so if you’re like me and live in a small town, it’s probably not on your radar.
I hadn’t planned on using the benefit even though I have five Chase cards that qualify — but on a trip to Fort Lauderdale, I tried out the service and found it easy and convenient to use.
Here’s how to use the Chase Gopuff credit and make the most of this perk.
We’re focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won’t be worth it if you’re paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it’s important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.

There’s no registration or activation required to use the Chase Gopuff credit. As long as you charge your qualifying purchase to an eligible Chase card, you’ll receive a $10 credit each month on an order of $10 or more. Keep in mind there’s a $3.95 delivery fee and you’ll have to factor in a tip as well, so it’s not possible to get your order entirely for free.
Gopuff delivers your items in as little as 30 minutes (sometimes less) and, while its prices are more expensive than shopping in person at a regular retailer, you can save a lot of time having last-minute essentials delivered so quickly. It’s particularly handy if you don’t have a car or a store nearby.
Not all Chase cards are eligible for the Gopuff credit, but many of the most popular ones are.
How to use the Chase Gopuff credit
If you haven’t used Gopuff before, start by visiting Gopuff.com to set up your account. Alternately, you can download the Gopuff app (Android or iOS) and register that way.
You’ll be asked for your email address, first and last name, and phone number. Gopuff will text you a verification code to enter, then you’ll be prompted to add your delivery address. If Gopuff isn’t available in your area right now, you’ll see a message stating so — but you’ll also have the opportunity to add other addresses (such as your hotel address on vacation) to your account.
Once you’ve got an eligible address loaded, you’ll see an estimated delivery time to that location and have the ability to add items to your cart:
Once you’re done shopping, you’ll get your order subtotal, less any taxes, delivery fee, and tip. Remember, your order must be at least $10 in order to receive the Chase Gopuff credit.
This screen is also where you can enter a promotion code and/or sign-up for a trial membership in Gopuff Fam, which gets you free delivery (more on that later).
Once you continue with the order you’ll be brought to the final payment page. Here you’ll add any delivery instructions, a contact phone number (you’ll get updates about your order that way), the driver’s tip amount, and your payment method.
Select “Add Payment Method” and enter your Chase card number, expiration date, CVV, and zip code. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to add other payment methods or swap out your card number for another later.
Once you’ve got your payment method entered, you’ll be able to click the “Place Order” button under your order total.
Keep in mind your Chase Gopuff credit is not applied at checkout. Instead, you’ll see it on your credit card statement once the transaction posts to your account as a “Fees & adjustments” item.
If you have multiple Chase cards with Gopuff credits, it’s easy to switch out or add a new payment method to your account by going to the “Payments” section in your account profile. Just be sure to select the new card for payment on your next order to receive your credit.
How to save even more with Gopuff
Because I wasn’t planning on using Gopuff after my vacation, I signed up for a free 14-day trial of Gopuff Fam, its membership service that otherwise costs $7.99 per month (or $79.99 per year). When you have Gopuff Fam, you’ll get free delivery (normally $3.95 per order), waived regulated product fees (there’s usually an additional charge for ordering things like alcohol), and 2x “Puff Points” on all purchases.
This is a good way to save a bit more money on your orders if you think you’ll use Gopuff a lot — and even if you won’t, it’s free to cancel at any time. I set a calendar reminder for after our trip to cancel the service and it was easy to do so.
Another way I saved is by searching for Gopuff promotion codes on Google. There were a bunch of different ones available when I looked, and I found a code for new customers worth $10 off your first three orders (total of $30 in savings). That promo code stacked nicely with the Chase Gopuff benefit — just be sure your total after the promo code discount is at least $10 to trigger the credit on your statement.
What to know about the Chase Gopuff credit
Although I won’t be using Gopuff on a regular basis because it’s not available in my area, it’s super handy to use when you’re traveling. Setting up a Gopuff account is easy, and changing your payment method if you have multiple eligible Chase cards for the credit is straightforward.
Thanks to stacking the Chase Gopuff credit on three of my cards with a free Gopuff Fam membership trial and promotion codes I found online, I saved $60 across three orders of snacks, soda, ice cream, and even band-aids and Neosporin for a minor vacation injury.
It won’t make sense to pay inflated Gopuff prices unless you value rapid delivery, but in a pinch, it’s a great service. Each of my orders arrived in less than 30 minutes, and with the discounts, I didn’t spend much out of pocket.
